Allen Public Safety Recovery Fund Check Presentation

The Credit Union of Texas has been a long-time supporter of first responders. So, when we heard about the Allen Public Safety Recovery Fund, which was established to provide benefits to Allen police officers, firefighters, and paramedics injured in the line of duty, we knew we needed to be a part. When a fire responder is injured in the line of duty, it not only affects them and the department it can have a significant effect on their family finances. A donation to the fund helps relieve that stress and allows for the family to focus on recovery.

Streetside Showers

We strive to make a difference in the communities that we serve and that is why Credit Union of Texas is proud to partner with Streetside Showers. Through our partnership, CUTX will be able to assist Streetside Showers fulfill their mission of providing mobile hot showers and hygiene care to those in need throughout Dallas and Collin Counties.

Patrol Stories

CUTX partnered with Patrol Stories to bring Officer Maxwell to Leadership Prep to Patrol Stories INC. is a nonprofit organization that fosters positive interactions between Law Enforcement and the communities they serve. Patrol Stories Founder Justin Delacruz, a full-time Police Officer, built this program to help create opportunities for Police Departments to engage with their citizens through a fun, educational, entertaining, and interactive experience. Officer Maxwell, the official mascot of Patrol Stories, was designed to provide children with a positive role model who displays hope, trust, friendship, and respect as well as humanize the profession of a Police Officer "providing a positive, personal, and an un-intimidating image." Officer Maxwell programs teach the importance of 911 safety and promote positive learning with "Maxwell's BIG THREE,"

Carr Cares Foundation | Lit Bubbies Reading Program

The Carr Cares Foundation was founded to inspire young students to become proficient readers by providing learning tools and resources to help them reach their full potential. In addition to the Carr Cares literacy initiatives, the Foundation also encourages students to live a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness and balanced nutrition.

CUTX partnered with Carr Cares foundation Lit Buddies reading programs to provide books and other school supplies. CUTX employees and Allen ISD Foundation assembled 100 s of Lit Buddies boxes and delivered them to elementary schools in the Allen ISD school system. Getting kids hooked on reading early helps develop their language and cognitive skills and helps prepare them for academic success.

City of Allen | Allen USA Celebration

Giving Back to the Community
Market Street Allen USA Celebration presented by Texas Health Allen also gives back to the community! Several civic organizations support the event through countless volunteer hours to sell soft drinks, souvenirs and assist with festival activities. The event returns a portion of the proceeds back to them for their hard work and support! CUTX was a proud sponsor of the annual Market Street Allen USA Celebration event held this past Saturday. It was an evening full of delicious food, live music and fireworks! Our very own Community Grill made a special appearance and raised over $1,100 towards the Credit Union of Texas Foundation! What a success! A very SPECIAL 'thank you' to all of our volunteers and community members who came out and supported!

CUTX partnered with the City Allen for a Family-Friendly event. Your famous floppy-eared, furry friend has been focused on finding fabulous toys, fantastic crafts, fun-filled eggs, and more for families to enjoy at home!

CUTX W.H. Cotton Scholarship
September 24, 2020

CUTX has presented the $20,000 W.H. Cotton Scholarship to Dallas Independent School District (DISD) high school principal Diana Nunez. Nunez has been a part of the DISD for two decades, serving in six educator and administrative positions before becoming the current principal of W.H. Adamson High School in Oak Cliff. She will use the scholarship to pursue a doctoral degree in the Cooperative Superintendency Program at The University of Texas at Austin.

The program has awarded a total of $100,000 to Dallas ISD educators since its inception.

NAACP of Collin County Check Presentation
August 25, 2020

"The generous donation from CUTX will allow our branch to immediately implement three programs that were under discussion.  We are excited to announce our inaugural virtual HBCU job fair to bring awareness to job opportunities in the school districts and police departments in Collin County.  Our goal is that well-qualified, graduating seniors from HBCUs will apply and receive job offers to teach in our schools and join the local police force.  In addition, we will launch our Afro Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) program that will allow our high school students to showcase their talents and compete for local and national scholarships. Previous  ACT-SO participants include Lauryn Hill, Angela Rye, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Cornelius Smith, Jr., Anthony Anderson, and Michael Beach, to name a few.  And finally, as part of the NAACP's game-changer initiative of Economic Sustainability, our branch will launch a program that further supports the success of Black-owned businesses in our community.  CUTX's commitment and donation is a first step to help create equity in Collin County.  The branch is excited about the partnership and looks forward to working with CUTX on additional programs to advance the mission of the NAACP".
